O2 Heads to Space to Keep the UK Connected
We have unveiled a new integrated campaign to launch O2 Satellite, bringing mobile-to-satellite data services to Europe for the first time.
The network service is designed to keep people connected in the UK’s most remote places, taking O2’s award-winning coverage further than ever before. Our global content creation studio Girl&Bear produced the film, with post-production by Time Based Arts.
Beyond the screen, the campaign runs across nationwide out-of-home locations featuring satellite views of Earth whilst localised poster executions are popping up along travel routes to remote spots like the Peak District.

To show the technology in action, O2 is partnering with YouTube creators The Sidemen for an O2-powered episode of ‘Hide & Seek’ set in a remote location, while additional social creator content from VCCP Social Club will highlight practical everyday uses of the satellite connection.
The campaign is running across TV, BVOD, SVOD, online video, OOH, social, radio, and owned retail and digital channels.
"O2 Satellite is a true reflection of our Essential For Living brand platform – a new way for our customers to keep connected and a real-world articulation of O2’s role in facilitating life’s most important moments. From remote landscapes to everyday tasks, our network keeps the nation linked – showing up quietly but reliably when it matters most."
Rachel Swift, Brand and Advertising Director at Virgin Media O2

"O2 is now in space. The first UK network to use satellites, O2 has gone to the edge of oxygen to bring us a whole new technology, reinforcing what the network has always stood for: being there when it matters."
David Masterman, Executive Creative Director at VCCP
