Dogs Trust Highlights the Power of Giving a Dog a Home This Christmas
Today, VCCP Blue have launched its festive campaign for Dogs Trust, ‘Every Dog Needs A Home’, which is celebrating the lengths people will go to help dogs find their forever homes.
The campaign builds on a simple truth: people do not just love dogs, they show up for them in extraordinary ways because caring is second nature. By tapping into that bond, the work aims to remind people that welcoming a rescue dog into a family is the ultimate show of devotion, keeping rehoming front of mind throughout the holidays.
Created by Keilan Grant and Ben Parmenter, the campaign centers on a 60-second film directed by Charlie Thorne through Girl&Bear Studios. The story follows an eight-year-old boy named Jack on an earnest mission to find a home for a rescue dog named Kira, only for his family to realize the perfect home for her was theirs all along.
"At Christmas, the importance of family is more significant than ever to many. We know that dog lovers, just like Jack, believe that no home is complete without a dog and will go to extraordinary lengths to help ensure that all dogs have a happy home to call their own. At Dogs Trust, we believe that every dog deserves a happy place - at Christmas, and for life. We want our advert to shine a light on the thousands of dogs across the UK who are currently in rehoming centres or foster homes, patiently waiting for their new family."
Owen Sharp, Chief Executive at Dogs Trust
"As a challenger agency, we believe in the power of an unconventional spirit. With ‘Kira Needs a Family’, we wanted to bring Dogs Trust’s purpose to life through one child’s determination to make a difference. Jack’s mission shows how a seemingly small act of commitment can have a huge impact, while celebrating the extraordinary things dog people do simply because they love dogs."
Ross Neil, Executive Creative Director
The integrated campaign runs across the UK through December 31st, appearing across TV, video-on-demand, cinema, social media, out-of-home, digital display, and audio.
