What’s The Table?

The Table is a paid entry-level, year-long scheme for anyone who wants to kickstart their career in advertising. You’ll be placed in one team in the VCCP London office for a full year, gaining invaluable experience and working on live briefs for some of the world’s biggest brands.

Available Roles

Account management is the glue in an agency – responsible for keeping the agency and the clients happy. From the strategy, through creative development, production, and into the final product, you’ll be across every part of the brief. On the Table, we have roles in account management across VCCP, VCCP Health, and VCCP Customer Engagement.

Organiser of your friendship group and love working with different types of people? Account Management may be for you.

Responsible for turning an idea into a reality, Girl&Bear work with photographers, directors, musicians – to produce the final product. Girl&Bear are the ‘makers’ (our creative production team) here at VCCP. Areas include post production, design, audio or wherever else your skills may lie. Creative problem solver who loves making things happen? Girl&Bear may be the place for you.

Bridging the gap between digital strategy and digital experiences for consumers, our digital agency, ‘Bernadette’, are responsible for all things customer experience (CX). Bernadette cover a range of roles from developing apps and websites to creating innovative products and services. Love keeping up with and working on the latest digital trends? Bernadette may be the place for you!

Media are responsible for making sure campaigns are seen in the right place, at the right time and by the right people. You’ll learn about different media channels and help select the most effective ones for each campaign. Analytical thinker, who likes coming up with creative solutions? Media may be for you.

Also known as New Biz, this team are responsible for bringing in new clients or expanding part of an existing client’s business. They manage competitive tenders and pitches as part of a ‘pitch team’. Thrive in a fast-paced role, and like to juggle lots of different tasks and teams at once? New Biz may be for you.

Also known as strategists, planners lead on creating the strategy behind a brief. They gather and analyse information and keep up to date on both consumer and industry trends to help inform our creative approach. Have an inquisitive mind and fascinated by what makes people tick? Your future may be in planning.

The social gurus of the business, the S&I team are responsible for coming up with the strategic concepts on a social brief through to creating content for clients on a daily basis. Glued to TikTok, love discovering new social channels, and know how to take a brand viral? Social and Influence could be for you.

The world of generative AI is growing rapidly and at VCCP we believe Gen AI, when used responsibly, can be an unparalleled accelerator of human creativity and imagination. You will be supporting clients through generative AI tools within media, data, planning, production and UX/UI capabilities. Want to be a part of the AI revolution? A role at Faith could be for you.

‘Good Relations’, our PR agency, specialises in traditional PR and social content. The scope is huge – from consumer brand launches, media relations, corporate reputation management, crisis & issues, content development to influencer marketing! If you’re full of big ideas, love the media and fancy populating culture, Good Relations may be the place for you!

The Customer Engagement team in the Agency. We’re passionate about combining customer data and martech with powerful human insights to create innovative and impactful ways to engage people directly one-to-one in customer channels like email, push, SMS, and WhatsApp. We create customer journeys, contact strategies, loyalty initiatives and community programmes that drive long term value for our clients’ business. The Table is a brilliant way of getting people from all backgrounds into the advertising industry. The fact you don’t need a degree to apply is what makes the Table really unique and means that it’s one of the most accessible schemes in the industry.

I’m currently an Account Director, having started on the Table in 2019 nearly 5 years ago. The Table was a brilliant introduction into how an agency works, with the first few weeks of inductions and training setting me up with a good set of skills to take into the rest of the year. It was a great way to meet people from different departments in the agency which has been a massive part in my career progression.

A lovely full circle, I am now deputy lead of The Table scheme (after starting on it 9 years ago) and a Senior Account Director in VCCP London. I work on The National Lottery – which I love – but I have also worked across easyJet, McLaren, Nationwide and Maynard Bassetts. Safe to say, no day is the same here at VCCP and on the Table!

Having the foundations of the training, the networking and the inductions from The Table has been a huge influence as to where I am today. It really did kick-start my career in the best way possible and prepared me for all the future challenges to come. Being part of the scheme has also made my role on the core Table team now so helpful as I do really understand what it is like to start here at VCCP with no experience whatsoever.
