The draft was held remotely, and was quite literally powered by T-Mobile.
T-Mobile was the presenting sponsor of the 2020 MLB Draft, which occurred on June 10 - 11. Prospective draftees were given T-Mobile phones and hotspots and received calls of being drafted using T-Mobile’s network.
We were presented an opportunity to give T-Mobile for Business a voice during this time, and give the brand unprecedented visibility on a national stage - amplified by the fact that live sports were not available to sports fans and the draft had its largest viewership ever.
Our challenge was to modify our existing TV spot to tie T-Mobile’s network - and T-Mobile for Business specifically - with Major League Baseball’s Draft, to make the sponsorship and integration seamless and relevant to BDMs/MLB fans.
