We will be bolder about expressing our dissatisfaction at the havoc that cancer can wreak in people\u2019s lives, and clearer about all the ways we can help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the charity is well known and has a recognisable brand, we know that not enough people with cancer are aware of all the ways we can support them. Our focus throughout this work has been on increasing Macmillan\u2019s relevance and ensuring that everyone who needs us can access our support. In turn we hope that more people will be inspired to offer support to Macmillan. Strengthening our brand is an important way for us to make an even bigger difference to everyone living with cancer in the UK.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>Macmillan worked with VCCP to develop the creative platform &#8216;Right there with you&#8217; which aims to engage people living with cancer, and fundraising audiences across all Macmillan&#8217;s communications. It launches as part of an above the line campaign running across earned, owned and social channels as well as leading Macmillan\u2019s brand advertising. The campaign launched with the TV advert during ITV\u2019s Cold Feet. The 60-second spot tells the story of a young girl who enters a corner store wanting to buy a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk. However, it\u2019s not for her \u2013 it\u2019s for her mum\u2019s birthday. As the girl has never bought something on her own before, she attempts to emulate what she has seen her mum do and gets her purse out to pay, but inside there is only a collection of small knick-knacks. She goes to pay using these trinkets, including a button and fake diamond ring, which the shopkeeper generously accepts.
