{"id":19289,"date":"2024-10-21T12:28:45","date_gmt":"2024-10-21T11:28:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vccp.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=19289"},"modified":"2024-10-21T12:28:46","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T11:28:46","slug":"pronouns-in-adland-guide","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.vccp.com\/uk\/news\/2024\/oct\/pronouns-in-adland-guide","title":{"rendered":"Pronouns In Adland Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"lazyblock-text-full-width-Z1Nd5pi wp-block-lazyblock-text-full-width\"><section class=\"fullwidth text-center\" data-aos=\"fade-up\">\n  <div class=\"container\">\n    \n    \n    <p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In celebration of International Pronoun Day, which takes place annually on 16 October, VCCP are proud to have contributed to a new Pronouns in Adland guide alongside volunteer-run LGBTQIA+ advocacy group <\/span><b>Outvertising<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>All In LGBTQIA+ Working Group<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Created to help the media and advertising industry create safer and more welcoming environments for their people, the \u2018Pronouns in Adland\u2019 initiative is part of the broader <\/span><b>All In Action Plan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, led by the <\/span><b>Advertising Association<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>ISBA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the <\/span><b>Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, aiming to build safer and more inclusive workplaces throughout the media and advertising industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>Dentsu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>the7stars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>McCann Worldgroup<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also contributed to the guide, sharing our experiences with introducing pronouns at work to support others in doing the same.<\/span><\/p>\n  <\/div>\n<\/section><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"lazyblock-quote-full-width-R2qjY wp-block-lazyblock-quote-full-width\">  <section class=\"fullwidth fullwidth--top-lg text-center\" data-aos=\"fade-up\">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n\n      <blockquote class=\"blockquote\">\n        For many, using and respecting pronouns is a simple yet powerful way to self-identify, show allyship, and create a culture of inclusivity.  \n        <cite>Julian Douglas, Global CEO and Chair of UKAEG<\/cite>      <\/blockquote>\n\n    <\/div>\n  <\/section><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"lazyblock-text-full-width-Z1rWxep wp-block-lazyblock-text-full-width\"><section class=\"fullwidth text-center\" data-aos=\"fade-up\">\n  <div class=\"container\">\n    \n    \n    <p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The guide serves as a crucial resource, providing answers to frequently asked questions about pronouns and addressing common misunderstandings. With this new approach, the VCCP DEI Collective has proved that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is exciting.
