As AWARD School 2020 gets underway amid COVID-19, the traditional face-to-face format has been replaced with video lectures and remote tutoring. But that hasn't stopped Kat and Jess, our Associate Creative Directors, from sharing their time and wisdom with aspiring ad-landers and future creatives.
Kat says; “It's crazy times to be doing the first online Award School, but on the very bright side, enforced time inside can lead to surprisingly wonderful creativity. I can't wait to see our student's fresh, original take on their briefs and indulge my maternal instincts by being able to support and help the fabulous future talent of the industry”.
Jess reflects on her own experience at AWARD School; “AWARD School really helped launch my move into advertising, and many years on, I’m humbled to be on the other side. Admittedly, it’s triggered some PTSD from my own 12-week torture, and I’ve had to remind myself that I’m not the one who has to complete 10 briefs in 12 weeks. I’m already inspired by the students’ enthusiasm, and excited to help the next generation of creatives”.
AWARD School is a 12-week short course, which is supported by Facebook. The course is designed to provide people with the skills, not only to make ads, but also to generate and develop ideas that can take them further with their careers, beyond the Creative Department.
