Background

Qatar is diversifying, rapidly. The oil and gas that built its economy aren’t going to last forever. Driving the new economy forward is the Qatar Financial Centre, the institution responsible for attracting foreign investment and regulating the economy.

The campaign for the QFC needed to show that there is more to Qatar’s wealth than natural resources. Thanks to the QFC, Qatar is now a financial centre that marries its wealth of assets with a wealth of talent and entrepreneurial spirit. The QFC is creating a new type of energy in Qatar: ‘Business Energy’.

The QFC reached its 3 year licensing target in the first 9 months after the launch campaign.  According to the ‘CNBC Viewertrack Dec. 2008’ 53% of respondents now see Qatar becoming the leading financial centre in the Middle East in the next 5 years.
