Family
Background
O2 recognise that life can be hectic for families, so in May 2009 they launched a £6 million fully integrated campaign aimed at helping family life run more smoothly. The campaign saw the introduction of a new product, the O2 Joggler, a multi functional digital device that can help organise families’ lives through its shared online calendar and other helpful functions such as traffic and weather updates, news and sports headlines as well as music and video streaming.
The creative is based upon the idea that the fridge door is at the heart of family life. With the melee of school letters, appointments, notices ,as well as our favourite pictures scattered across it, we know all of the information we need is there somewhere! The O2 Joggler is the families' new fridge door. With its useful functions, families can free their fridge and organise family life with ease. The Joggler is supported by the Your Family Bolt On, which offers five family members the chance to stay in touch with unlimited calls, texts and picture messages for only £7.50 per month. Both propositions were supported by TV, cinema, retail, press, online and social media.
Fact
O2's relationship with families extends into 3D gaming this summer with the production of a 3 minute interactive cinema game supporting this years big summer releases. The game is a first of its kind in the UK, seeing the family characters first made famous on TV and in the press, taking their first steps into space and blasting asteroids along the way.
Fact
As part of the campaign, O2 have their very own ‘Mum-e’ blogger to talk about how technology helps family life run more smoothly. "Mum-e" interacts with online mums and families to share her thoughts about the latest technologies and the impact they have on family life. In the first month there were over 24,000 views of her blog.
