Wallace & Gromit

Background

We launched the first campaign for npower on 1st April 2010, using Wallace and Gromit to communicate the benefit of smartpower from npower.  Our TV execution saw Wallace creating a monster of a TV set, which uses horrifying amounts of energy.  Quick thinking Gromit calls npower in to action to help out.  With the use of their smartpower electricity monitor, Wallace and Gromit get their energy consumption back under control. This was also the first TV outing for Penny, a new character, who works at the npower call centre giving advice and help to customers.  The campaign consisted of TV, press, outdoor, online, direct and PR all working together.  Visit www.npower.com/wallacescreen for more information! 

npower are one of the official supporters of England’s 2018 bid, they wanted to use this opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to Small/ Medium UK Businesses in order to drive acquisition/retention of business accounts, as well as increase general brand awareness and loyalty. Along with Aardman we have created another fully integrated campaign, launching with an online exclusive on the 11th May a day before the TV aired on the 12th.
