VCCP and Resonate Launch ICON

Communications agency VCCP and PR specialist Resonate have launched a joint venture social communications agency called ICON. The agency launches having won a place on the Unilever global PR roster.

ICON will combine digital, advertising and PR skills and apply them to the world of social media. ICON will effectively fuel conversations in both old (newspapers etc) and new (Facebook, Twitter, blogs etc) media, creating trust and advocacy between consumers and brands.

 

The new agency will stimulate these conversations by creating and distributing stories, content and applications aligned with a brand's central strategy, subsequently measure the effect of these conversations on other marketing activities, and lastly, take the best ideas and suggestions coming out of these conversations and feed them back into our Clients' innovation programs.

Unilever's global brand PR Director, Marjolein van Kampen, said "the way ICON operates ensures that it is able to offer the most tailored approach possible to be able to deliver the best results".

The management team brings together Amelia Torode (VCCP Head of Strategy), Dominic Stinton (VCCP Partner), Peter Grenfell (VCCP Digital Director) and Michael Frohlich (Resonate Managing Director).

Amelia explained that the joint venture with Resonate had been an easy evolution: "we've always created ideas with the intention of creating advocacy and word of mouth; for us, it's an easy fit".
