His points are valid. Facebook is a lot about storing and looking into the past, but I think that was their goal. It’s about keeping a diary of our lives, which we can open up to however many people we wish. The new Timeline will just emphasise that.
However, new features like the Ticker will make it more about the present and what’s happening in real-time. Like they demoed yesterday, if a friend is listening to a song, or interacting with an App, you’ll be able to join them and share the experience.
Whether all experiences will be worth it deserves a separate discussion though.
A good point of view nonetheless. Worth a read
